Following the Vienna meeting of 3 and 4 february 2014, national mirror comittees continued in drafting this European Halal Standard.

The next meeting is scheduled for 22 and 23 october 2014, in Sarajewo, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Background

In April 2013, CEN decided to go ahead with the elaboration of a future European standard for Halal Foods and the CEN/Technical Committee 425 “Halal Food” was set up.

CEN is a major provider of European Standards and technical specifications and it is the only recognized European organization for the planning, drafting and adoption of European Standards.

The project kicked off in Istanbul on 23 and 24 september 2013.
