The Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB Group) is a South-South multilateral development finance institution established in pursuance of the Declaration of Intent issued by the Conference of Finance Ministers of Muslim Countries held in Jeddah in Dhul Q’adah 1393H, corresponding to December 1973.
The purpose of the Bank is to foster the economic development and social progress of member countries and Muslim communities individually and collectively in accordance with the principles of Shari’ah (Islamic Law).
To promote the Halal ecosystem, IDB wants to stimulate experience sharing between experts in the field by setting up 'Community of Practices' workshops all over world, as part of their Global Halal Industry Development Project.
shared its international experience in the Kuala Lumpur inaugural Community of Practice Session on April 3, 2015, in co-operation with the Monash University Malaysia's Halal Ecosystem platform.
